With deepest sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Sheldon Smith.

He will be greatly missed by his two daughters, Brittany (Jordan, grandchildren Hudson, Madden, and Sadie) and Hailey (Mike), their mother Lana, his parents Bill and Myronia Smith, sisters, Lhea (Wentworth, McKenzie) and Colette (Morgan), and many family and friends.

Sheldon was born in Chilliwack and grew up in Agassiz. He had a passion for aircraft at an early age - and pursued a life career in aviation. He earned his commercial pilot's license and was a certified air mechanic engineer. Sheldon also had a passion for cars and enjoyed restoring classic vehicles.

Sheldon loved nature and spent  endless hours in and around Harrison Lake. He was an intelligent, honest man with a sharp mind, filled with a wealth of knowledge.

He was pre-deceased by his infant daughter, Jasmine in 1987.

A celebration of Sheldon's life will be held on Sunday, August 26, at the Friendship House in Agassiz at 1:00 pm; tea to follow.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the "Ruth and Naomi Mission" in Chilliwack.
