In loving memory ~
Bill Tunbridge of Chilliwack BC passed away on May 25 at Cascades Senior Living. He was born and raised in Mission, BC, along with two brothers and two sisters. In 1954 he married his beloved Valerie. Two years later, they moved to Chilliwack and raised three sons while Bill (BCLS 345) and brother Fred ran the Tunbridge and Tunbridge land surveying company. Bill always enjoyed outdoors work.
Bill was most of all a family man and a hard worker. He was kind and generous with his time and donations. He was a charter member of the Chilliwack Kiwanis Club, from cooking in the food truck to serving as Lieutenant-Governor of the Pacific Northwest. He became president of the BC-Yukon Boy Scouts of Canada. He volunteered with the Salvation Army and supported BC Children's Hospital, Red Cross, and others.
For his community service, along with his brothers, Fred and Vic, he was Chilliwack's Citizen to be Recognized in 1987. Bill loved to travel with his family, from road trips to cruises and trips afar. Hawaii was a favourite destination.
Predeceased by wife Valerie, brothers Fred and Vic, sister Joy, and grandson Darren, Bill is survived by sister Lynne Kenney, sons Robert (Laura), Kenneth (Sybil), and Allan (Juanita), eight grandchildren, and nineteen great grandchildren.
The family thanks Dr. Sean Larsen, CGH staff, Hampton House staff, and especially the caregivers at Cascades, his final residence.
Donations to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
