It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Zenon Sabat at the age of 90 years old at his home in Agassiz, BC. He was born on a farm in Tyndall, Manitoba.
Zenon was the most kind hearted, honest and hardworking man and was loved by all. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with friends and family, especially his grandkids. Zenon worked for Corrections Canada for 30 years. He was a member of the Lions Club for most of his life, serving as president for several years. He also was very active at the various Ukrainian Churches that he attended throughout his life. Zenon loved to travel and enjoyed many trips to destinations in Canada and the USA. He was very involved with the Agassiz Motocross Track and his son's motocross racing which took him all over the country.
He will be dearly missed by his partner Anne Chaplin of Chilliwack, BC, sons Les and Terry Sabat of Agassiz, BC, daughter Carol Whibbs(Cal) of Calgary, AB, granddaughter Courtney Reimert(Anthony) of Calgary, AB, grandson Chase Whibbs(Chelsea) of Calgary, AB, brothers Bob Sabat(Virginia) of Mission, BC and Larry Sabat(Judy) of Lake Isabella, California.
Zenon is predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, Helen Sabat and parents Leon and Anne Sabat.
Funeral services will be held at Henderson's Funeral Home, 45901 Victoria Ave, Chilliwack, BC on Tuesday, July 30th, 2019 at 10 am, followed by a graveside burial at the Valley View Cemetery, 5065 Cemetery Rd, Agassiz, BC. Reception to be held at the Agassiz Legion, 1846 Agassiz-Rosedale Highway, Agassiz, BC. If you wish to make a donation, please donate to the BC Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
