Letter writer says OCP bylaw being dismissed as suggestions

If Rick Carswell had been around 30-some years ago he would know that the the semi-circular, amphitheatre-style plaza actually was my idea. It just took a long time to get built. If he bothered to read the Harrison Official Community Plan and Design Guidelines, he would know that we, as a community decided some time ago to use native materials (rocks and wood) rather than industrial finishes (concrete, steel and chainlink) in out lakefront area.

Unfortunately, our current mayor dismisses the OCP bylaw as a bunch of mere suggestions and not the law, as prescribed by provincial statute. Strangely, the same man who has no respect for the law is always begging for respect for himself.
