Try, try again when fishing

Finding a good spot isn't easy

It’s hard to find a good fishing spot. You need to find a place that has fish — lots of fish to catch and eat. The best times to go fishing at are six in the morning and 9 p.m. That’s when the bugs come out and the fish start jumping. They eat bugs.

This is why you stick bait on your hooks. I learned about fishing from Chilliwack Dart and Tackle. They taught me where to go fishing, and they gave me a rod for free because I hadn’t saved enough money for one. They told me to go fishing in the Vedder River. I haven’t been able to try fishing at the Vedder yet, but I will try in two days.

When we tried finding a spot at Vedder, it was too high and we couldn’t find a spot.

I tried fishing at the canal by the highway, but it was too muddy.

I tried fishing at the slough, but there were too many mosquitoes.

And I tried at Kawkawa Lake. There was fish jumping but I didn’t catch anything.

Sometimes I go with friends, and sometimes I go by myself. My friend almost caught a fish at the slough. I saw someone who caught five fish.

And at Kawkawa, I tried on the dock and tried in the water. And I am trying Cultus Lake. I would try fishing at Cultus Lake and I hope I catch a fish so I can have fish for supper because it is good. The only thing is, fish are slimy, gross and hard to gut. But fish eggs are good bait. Roe is perfect to use. My dad caught three fish in  the Fraser River using roe as his bait.

The Fraser River is too high to fish in right now for me but it is a good place to fish as there is trout still in the river.

A funny story about fishing is: One time I went with my family and a friend and my brother hooked a tree and it hooked my mom in her hand, yikes!
