COVID-19 has put the brakes on a couple of events at the Agassiz Speedway as they wrap up another year.

With the new public health orders for Fraser Valley East, including Agassiz-Harrison, the Agassiz Speedway team has decided to postpone the year-end wind-up barbecue originally scheduled for this past Saturday, Oct. 2. A new date will be determined once the restrictions have been lifted.

The general meeting scheduled for Oct. 5 has been cancelled with the possibility of meeting at a venue outside the Fraser East area on Nov. 2 if restrictions are still in effect.

Coming off a year full of cancellations, 2021 was a successful year for the Agassiz Speedway, especially considering continued hurdles related to COVID-19 and adverse weather. This season, the speedway hosted six races, capping off with a championship day on Sept. 25.
