A pair of Chilliwack Chief grads won awards in the NCAA’s Atlantic Hockey Conference this week.

Former Chiefs captain Will Calverley took the title as Player of the Week for the second time this season after posting four points in a weekend split with Long Island University. The Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Tiger had a goal and an assist in each game, and had the game-winner Saturday.

Calverley, who captained Chilliwack’s RBC Cup champions in 2018, now has points in all but one game this season and has multiple points in three straight outings.

Meanwhile, Holy Cross junior Matt Slick was named Atlantic Hockey Defender of the Week. Slick, who was also part of the 2018 RBC Cup champs, found his way into the box score in multiple ways as his team rallied to beat Bentley in overtime in their lone game last week.

Slick collected an assist on the game-winner and had four blocked shots.
