A highly-skilled 16-year-old will be jumping into the BCHL with the Chilliwack Chiefs next season.

A Burnaby product, the 2006-born forward is a Burnaby Winter Club alum who has been skating with the North East Chiefs of the BC Elite Hockey League this season. The teenager has six goals and 11 points in 10 games.

Kuramoto impressed Chilliwack hockey boss Brian Maloney during BCHL preseason action and recently helped Team BC to a win at the WHL Cup.

Maloney described him as possessing elite offensive vision, “paired with a high level of pace and a great release on his shot.”

“He showed us what he is capable of throughout training camp and the pre-season, and fit in seamlessly with our group,” Maloney noted. “He is going to be put in situations to have success, and with his work ethic and commitment to his game, he is sure to have a great 16-year-old season in the BCHL.”
