After being shut out twice by Chilliwack in the first half of the BCHL pod season, the Prince George Spruce Kings returned the favour Wednesday night.

Aaron Trotter stopped 22 Chiefs shots, leading PG to a 2-0 win at the Chilliwack Coliseum.

Jakob Gullmes got the start in goal for Chilliwack and played well, stopping 22 of 24 pucks. Kolton Cousins slipped a shot past him in the first period and Christian Buono added a power play goal in the third.

The three stars were Trotter (first), Buono (second) and Chilliwack’s Ethan Bowen (third).

The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Chiefs, who return to action Friday night when they ‘visit’ the Merritt Centennials at the Chilliwack Coliseum. They will be the ‘road’ team Saturday for another clash with Prince George. Both games are 5 p.m. starts.
