The Chilliwack Jets took care of business against a bad hockey team Sunday, whomping the Surrey Knights 11-1 in a Pacific Junior Hockey League matchup at the Sardis Sports Complex.
The Jets (7-2) got three goals apiece from leading scorer Caleb Garet (Okotoks, AB) and Abbotsford product Nolan Wall. Treyson Frost (Chilliwack), Noah Ouellette (Penticton), Bradley Thompson (Maple Ridge), Mitchell Metcalfe (Chilliwack) and Nicholas Parkes (Mission) also scored for the home team, which outshot the lowly Knights 43-19.
We were sharp and jumped on them early,” said Chilliwack hockey boss Clayton Robinson. “We played a fairly complete 60 minute game.
After talking last week about finding more scoring depth, Robinson was pleased to see six different skaters lighting the lamp, although the weak foe played a role.
“Nolan (Wall) is a great player,” Robinson said. “He is just getting back into shape and will continually get better. And I am glad others got involved, but the opponent wasn’t the best.”

Evan Paul (Maple Ridge) got his third start of the season in the Chilliwack net, and remained unbeaten at 3-0.
Colby Stanley was the only Surrey player to best him, scoring late in period two.
Surrey is 1-11 this season with a -56 goals for/against ratio. Somehow they managed to beat the Mission City Outlaws in a shootout for their lone win back on Sept. 18, but they are still dead last (seventh) in the Harold Brittain Conference.
Chilliwack comes out of the weekend sitting third in the Harold Brittain Conference, four points behind the first place Langley Trappers and Ridge Meadows Flames (9-3 records each), but with three games in hand.
They hit the road Saturday (Oct. 23) for a game against the Tom Shaw Conference-leading North Vancouver Wolf Pack (8-1-0-1).
“It will be a real test as two of the best teams in the league square off,” Robinson said.
The Jets are back home Sunday (Oct. 24), hosting Mission City (5-6-0-2) at the Sardis Sports Complex.
The last time Chilliwack faced the Outlaws, Mission goalie Max Fowle stole the show, making 35 stops in a 4-1 win.
“We will be ready,” Robinson promised.
