A former Chilliwack Chief is off to a hot start in his third NCAA season.

Former captain Will Calverley has just been named the Atlantic Hockey (Conference) Player of the Week.

The junior forward at the Rochester Institute of Technology scored three goals in last Friday’s 8-5 win over the No. 9 ranked Clarkson Golden Knights. The Ontario native gave RIT a 2-0 lead in the opening frame, broke a 4-4 tie later on and scored the game winner.

He added an assist two nights later in the rematch, a 5-1 loss.

It was opening weekend for his Tigers.

The 22 year old played two seasons in Chilliwack, notching 96 points in 111 regular-season games. He capped off his BCHL career with an MVP performance in the junior A national championship tournament as his Chiefs captured the 2018 RBC Cup.
