Pet owners across the Lower Mainland have an opportunity to spread their furry friend's love in a photo contest where the winner has their pet's picture on a limited-edition beer label.
Langley Animal Protection Society has partnered with local brewery Camp Beer Co. to host a "Pets on Pints" photo contest, sponsored by The Newpoint Group.
The top two pets, as voted by the public for $1 per vote, will be featured on two cans in a special four-pack release.
Two additional winners will be chosen through a draw, depending on funds raised.
The contest is about bringing the community together, supporting local businesses, and helping four-legged friends at LAPS, said Sarah Jones, executive director of LAPS.
"Not only do you get to celebrate your pets, but you're also supporting a local business and making a difference for animals in our community," she said.
People can upload their photo at gogophotocontest.com and share their submission online until noon on Sept. 3, when the contest closes.
"We're deeply rooted in our Langley community, and supporting causes like LAPS is a natural extension of our core values: passion, community, and adventure," said Camp Beer's general manager Kevin Larsen.
It's a great way to give back to the community and celebrate our furry friends who bring so much joy to our lives."
The only restrictions for the contest is that the entrant is 19 years or older and that the photo submitted is of a domesticated pet, Jones noted.
Those with pets that have passed away can still enter if they have a good quality digital photo of the pet.
For all donations of $20 or more, donors will receive a tax receipt.
Anyone with questions can email kelsi.sutton@lapsbc.ca.
Winners will be announced within three days after the contest closes and on the LAPS website.
All proceeds will be donated to LAPS.
