The goat who ate Christmas

Agassiz goats consume discarded Christmas trees

Discarded Christmas trees are being collected by Agassiz Goat Dairy for the second year in a row.

The old Christmas trees provide nutrition and distraction for goats at Agassiz Goat Dairy Ltd as they chomp down on discarded specimens from the holiday season.

The family farm has had goats since about 2000 and but this is only the second year they’ve collected trees. Last January the dairy farm collected about 25 Christmas trees for their hungry goats who can eat a tree in as few as one or two hours.

The farm insists that any donated trees are clean and free of tinsel or chemicals.

Trees can be dropped off behind the mailbox at 6055 Else Road.
