The Agassiz-Harrison area has now experienced five wildfires since March as the B.C. Wildfire Service (BCWS) reports a new fire south of Stacey Lake between Harrison Mills and Agassiz.
The small fire is currently listed as “being held” at under a hectare and is unlikely to spread given the current conditions.
There is one other active wildfire almost directly south of blaze discovered today.
None of the fires were reported were of significant size and most were under control when reported. The cause of the fires were unknown as of press time.
