The Agassiz Fire Department has raised nearly 5,000 pounds of food and $3,400 for Agassiz-Harrison Community Services this year.
The fire department’s annual food drive took place on Thursday, Dec. 5, with local fire trucks cruising around town as part of a door-to-door collection.
Members from the fire department, as well as Kent Harrison Search and Rescue, BC Ambulance Service and youth from AESS and local service clubs went around the community to gather non-perishable food items, toys and monetary donations.
In total, the one night food drive raised $3,457.81 for community services and 4,856.8 pounds of food.
