Spokesperson Sgt. Mike Sargent said the annual Stuff The Cruiser event that was scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 5 at Super Valu in support of the Agassiz-Harrison Community Services has been cancelled due to COVID-19 and related restrictions.

However, the Agassiz RCMP detachment will continue to collect donations and ensure they make their way to the local food bank.

Last year, Agassiz-Harrison donated more than half a ton of food, weighing in at 1,020 pounds of food and more than $1,500 in cash. Sgt. Sargent hopes to pass those numbers this year.

The Agassiz RCMP will accept non-perishable food items, new toys and cash and gift card donations. COVID-19 protocols will be put in place to ensure health and safety for everyone. Items can be dropped off beforehand at the Agassiz RCMP detachment, located at 6869 Lougheed Hwy.
