The first local dance of 2023 is coming down the pike.
Tickets are now on sale for the (Almost) Spring Dance on March 4 at the Agassiz Agricultural Hall. The Agassiz Agricultural and Horticultural Association is hosting the dance, the proceeds of which will go toward the Agassiz Fall Fair and Corn Festival.
The dance will feature music from two local bands: Funk Romance and Outlaws and Lace. Chilliwack-based Funk Romance is a four-piece funk band likely to be well-known to locals as they frequently play at the Agassiz Fall Fair.

Outlaws and Lace is a five-person country band also based in Chilliwack. Like their Funk Romance contemporaries, they have also brought their own brand of country music flavour to the Fall Fair and other events in the Agassiz-Harrison area.
Tickets for the (Almost) Spring Dance are available online at eventbrite.ca or at the door; the cost is $20 for live music, a 50/50 draw and $5 drinks. Doors open at 8 p.m.
The Agassiz Fall Fair and Corn Festival is a decades-old tradition in Agassiz and is one of the biggest events of the year both in scale and popularity. The fall festivities feature the crowning of the Corn King or Queen (or in the case of last year, both), rides, a traditional fair, games and much more.
