Holiday light lovers who came to Harrison Hot Springs this year might’ve noticed some new displays along the Harrison Lake waterfront this season.
Community Futures North sponsored this year’s Lights by the Lake, an annual display of holiday lights that runs from the Christmas season to mid-January. Tourism Harrison River Valley events director Stephanie Gallamore said the $5,000 sponsorship paid for a number of displays that made their debut at the 2021 event, including a waving “sno-squatch,” a massive 10-foot moose, a sturgeon, three light tunnels and a number of other displays.
Lights by the Lake has been a winter tradition for several years. The custom-made light displays highlight the elusive Sasquatch, local wildlife and activities along a one-kilometre stretch of Harrison Lake waterfront.
