The Kent Harrison Arts Council celebrated winter solstice on Dec. 21 with a crown-making workshop at Harrison Memorial Hall.
The workshop, led by Ranger Station Art Gallery artist-in-residence Ava P. Christl, invited participants to bring wind-fallen boughs, willow, pliable twigs or branches, flowers and more to make the crowns, then “wear the crowns and parade along the lagoon” with lanterns, lights, and candles to light up the longest night of the year.
