The Agassiz-Harrison Lions have continued their decades-long tradition of supporting the Friendship House.

The Lions have donated funds to the Friendship House since it was built in 1990. It was generous donations from local volunteers that allowed the Friendship House to be built in the first place, along with donated land from the Sciotti family.

The local Lions have helped maintain and upgrade this community fixture, which has long been a gathering place for seniors to help maintain physical and mental health through a variety of activities and programs. Donations from the Lions have also funded teas, dinners, activities and hall rentals.

The Friendship House is a volunteer-run organization open to anyone aged 55 and older. Regular, year-round activities include bridge, cribbage, canasta, bingo, sit and fit, line dancing and floor curling. Most activities have a $2 cover charge, and memberships are $20 per year.

The Friendship House is located at 7272 Morrow Road in Agassiz.

The Agassiz-Harrison Lions have donated funds to a variety of local charities and non-profit organizations, including Kent-HArrison Search and Rescue, the Kent Elementary PAC and the Chilliwack branch of the Salvation Army.
