PHOTOS: Breaking ground at 102nd Chilliwack Plowing Match

Hundreds came out to old-fashioned event celebrating Chilliwack’s rich farming history

Hundreds of people came out to watch as farmers competed in the 102nd annual Chilliwack Plowing Match on the weekend.

The historic farming event took place Saturday (April 6) at Greendale Acres in Chilliwack.

A total of 24 people competed in the following categories: horse-drawn plows, antique tractors, open class, reversible plows, B.C. class, and community leaders’ class.

The old-fashioned event celebrated Chilliwack’s rich farming history, and also included tractor wagon rides, a by-donation pancake breakfast to help raise funds for local non-profit Chilliwack Bowls of Hope Society, games and more.
