A group of four musicians will pay tribute to six classic bands from the ’60s when they come to Chilliwack in April.

BackBeat brings its show The ‘60s Cavalcade of Stars, a live variety show and multimedia presentation, to the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on April 20.

This tribute band celebrates the music of The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Rolling Stones, The Monkees, The Dave Clark Five and Creedence Clearwater Revival.

BackBeat is made up of frontman George Penwarn, guitarist and keyboard player Duncan Meiklejohn, bassist and penny-whistler Kelt Eccleston, and percussionist Jon Baglo who have been living and breathing music from the 1960s and sharing it with audiences since 1988.

They call themselves the “pretty fab guys” from Victoria.

The guys are all experts at their craft, honing their chops on dusty stages and in smoky cabarets all across the country. Collectively and singularly, each of these artists has graced the stage with some of the worlds foremost artists including Sheena Easton, Celine Dion, Loverboy, Fee Waybill, Nigel Olsson, Honeymoon Suite, Steven Tyler and David Foster. BackBeat has also been a featured opening act for Trooper and 54-40.

BackBeat Entertainment presents The ‘60s Cavalcade of Stars on Saturday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. The show runs approximately two hours. Tickets are $45 and can be purchased at the Centre Box Office, online at chilliwackculturalcentre.ca, or by calling 604-391-SHOW(7469).
