I read the article in the paper of Dec. 29 about closing down the food fair.

I was totally disgusted with the decision that was made to remove the food fair and replace it with a government liquor store, of all things.

I can’t believe the government and who else were involved to have absolutely no feelings or consideration for anyone but themselves. (But I’m really not surprised.)

To take away the joy and happiness from the seniors and families who gathered there for so many years.

Also to take away the businesses as the food court which was their livelihood and to let greed and money take over. I’m sure they could have found another spot at the mall, even if it was a little smaller, to continue on the tradition of the food fair.

I want to thank the ones who tried so hard in getting signatures to not have them close down the food fair. At least you tried. I also want to give thanks to Save-on Foods for adding a few tables by the deli, so a few people could still meet.

That was so thoughtful, and they did the best they could. So many thanks.

Not that it matters, I will no longer buy my alcohol at a government place again. I will gladly go to a private store, even if I have to pay more.

Hopefully I’ll have followers who feel the same way.

C. Cunningham
