Having read and understanding the debacles of the most recently elected Council of Harrison Hot Springs, I am appalled to hear that the “council” has taken it upon themselves to administer a vote of “non-confidence” against duly-elected Mayor Ed Wood.

I do not believe that Harrison bylaws address non-confidence procedures, so I rely on the federal “ Confidence Convention.”

An essential feature of the convention is that a governing body must answer to their actions. Having said that — the civic election was recent and village voters selected their representatives on council.

There are no statutory regulations to rely on to address such a motion and in my opinion, if the council feels they cannot work with the duly-elected Mayor, they should themselves step down and make room for leaders who are willing to work together despite differences of opinion or adversity.

Keep the sand in the sandbox. Grow up!
