This letter is in response to “Parking enforcement sours Harrison experience,” published in the June 17 edition.
Dear Editor,
I read the incident recorded in your 17th June edition in the letter from Mr. Flitton.
If I had forgotten to pay the parking fee and somebody reminded me, I would have at once left the restaurant and rectified the matter. If I was the “parking man,” I would have written a ticket and moved on to the next vehicle.
As I read the incident the “parking man” was attempting to assist Mr. Flitton to avoid a ticket, assuming Mr. Flitton would act quickly to rectify the problem.
An attempted kindness was misconstrued and not returned in kind.
