Agassiz found itself once again temporarily transported to Parable County, Montana this week.

Film crews with Sky Road Productions II were in town early this week to film “Big Sky River 2,” the sequel to a movie shot along Pioneer Avenue last year.

Filming took place early this week at the Aberdeen Building, portions of Pioneer Avenue and in Pioneer Park. The Aberdeen Building once again played the role of the Parable County Sheriff’s Office, complete with old wagon wheels, benches and plenty of flowers for the small-town, western feel.

According to a synopsis, “Big Sky River 2” follows Hutch Carmody, a handsome, wealthy golden boy from Parable Montana who recently inherited half of Whisper Creek Ranch, sharing it with his brother. He meets Kendra Shepherd, a refined woman dreaming of a devoted husband and starting a family. Kendra finds her mind turning to Hutch, despite his rough cowboy exterior.

There’s no cast or crew list yet available, but it can safely be assumed that Lochlyn Munro will assume his role as Hutch in “Big Sky River 2.” Viewers might recognize him as Hal Cooper on “Riverdale,” and locals may have seen him last year when he was out in Harrison Hot Springs filming “Buddy Games: Spring Awakening.”

The original “Big Sky River” was released last year under the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries banner. The movies are based on the “Parable, Montana” series of romance novels by author Linda Lael Miller.
