2023 burning permits are available from the District of Kent.
All open burning within the district – including campfires – requires an annual burning permit.
All burning permits are valid for the entire year; however, open burning is restricted from May 15 to Sept. 30.
The application process asks for basic information such as location, designated burning areas and relative locations from burning areas to buildings and trees. The application also also breaks down the types of permits available, from campfire ($25) to Category 3 ($150).
There is no open burning permitted in the Agassiz townsite. There is an online app available through kentbc.ca in which applicants can check if their property is within the townsite.
