Agassiz-Harrison reaches 80 per cent vaccination for people 12 and older

Six new cases of COVID-19 between NOv. 7 and 13

COVID-19 cases are on the decline across the province and Agassiz-Harrison.

According to the most recent data from the B.C. Centre for Disease Control, there were six cases of COVID-19 between Nov. 7 and Nov. 13. This is a considerable drop from 14 cases from the previous week and another 14 from the week before.

Thus far in 2021, there have been 374 local cases of COVID-19 for an average of about 8.3 cases per week.

Vaccination rates are up by 1 per cent across almost all demographics from the previous week. As of Nov. 15, 80 per cent of the currently eligible Agassiz-Harrison population has been fully vaccinated (85 per cent partially vaccinated). The 12 to 17 age group is 62 per cent fully vaccinated (69 per cent partially vaccinated). 81 per cent of Agassiz-Harrison residents aged 18 and older are fully vaccinated (86 per cent partially vaccinated).

70 per cent of Agassiz-Harrison residents between the ages of 18 and 49 are fully vaccinated (79 per cent partially vaccinated). 88 per cent of the 50-plus category is fully vaccinated (90 per cent partially vaccinated).

As of Friday, Nov. 19, There is one active exposure event in Fraser-Cascade School District 78. The exposure was at Agassiz Elementary Secondary School from Nov. 9 to 10. There have been five exposure events at AESS and 11 exposure events across the district this school year (nine of which have been in Agassiz schools, two of which were in Hope).
