Thieves made off with an unknown amount of jewelry and now police are looking for suspects and witnesses following an early-morning break-in at Cottonwood Centre on Thursday.

Chilliwack RCMP were dispatched to the mall on Luckakuck Way for a report of an alarm around 4:30 a.m. on Nov. 23.

Once on scene, police found smashed glass on a door to the mall.

While clearing the premises, they also noticed that the suspect(s) had forced their way inside a jewelry store inside the mall and “an unknown quantity of jewelry was stolen,” Cpl. Carmen Kiener, media spokesperson with the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment stated in a Nov. 24 press release.

According to Cottonwood Centre’s online directory, there are three jewelry stores in the mall.

The investigation is still ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 or call CrimeStoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
