The District of Kent has recently completed their accessibility plan.

In response to the province’s mandate of the Accessible B.C. Act, the district formed an accessibility select committee to draft Kent’s first accessibility plan. The committee consists of representatives from local First Nations, the local school district, Agassiz-Harrison Community Services and Fraser Health.

“his initiative aims to enhance accessibility across the District ensuring that all residents, regardless of their abilities, can fully participate in and benefit from community life,” The district stated in a recent release. “The committee’s invaluable contributions have been instrumental in shaping a vision for a more inclusive and welcoming community for the future.”

Community members can provide their feedback on the accessibility plan through a feedback survey, allowing residents to share their experiences, challenges and wishes as the plan evolves.
