COVID-19 cases tick slightly upward in Agassiz-Harrison

Four new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the Agassiz-Harrison in the past week.

The B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) has recorded four new cases of COVID-19 in the Agassiz-Harrison area from Aug. 7 to Aug. 13. This is up slightly from the previous week’s three cases, but it remains mostly in-line with COVID-19 activity throughout 2022.

There has been a total of 241 cases of COVID-19 in Agassiz-Harrison since the beginning of the year. At this time last year, there were 171 cases of COVID-19 for the year.

There are no outbreaks or exposure events in the community. However, there is currently an outbreak involving nine inmates at Kent Institution. Of the nine people who were infected in the most recent outbreak, five have recovered. There have been no deaths in any correctional facilities in Agassiz-Harrison.
