Chilliwack RCMP has reissued the call for witnesses to come forward with any dash-cam footage to shed light on a Highway 1 fatality three months to the day after it happened.

RCMP say the initial 911 call came in on Aug. 28 at 3:15 a.m. to inform police there was a body in the eastbound lane of the highway.

Investigating officers arrived on-scene soon after to find a deceased woman lying in the travel section of the highway. Traffic was rerouted around the incident through the overpass in order for the investigation to begin.

“If you were in the area of Highway 1 at the Vedder Road overpass in the early hours of August, 28, please call the Chilliwack RCMP, as you could have vital information that could help further this investigation,” said RCMP Sgt. Carmen Kiener.

Anyone with information about the Aug. 28 incident is asked to call the non-emergency RCMP line at 604-792-4611, quoting file # 2023-35764, or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
