Agassiz-Harrison’s COVID-free streak has ended after two consecutive zero-case weeks – but cases still remain low at this time.

The B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) has recorded one new case of COVID-19 between July 3 and 9. Depending on the variant and a number of other variables, this data may not yet show the full effect Canada Day celebrations had on local case numbers, if any. Local COVID-19 cases have been in the single digits throughout a bulk of 2022 following the worst local spike in cases from December 2021 to the first few weeks of the year.

This brings the yearly total to 231 cases of COVID-19 in Agassiz-Harrison.

There are no reports of exposure events or outbreaks in Agassiz-Harrison in recent weeks or months. There has also been no change in vaccination rates in several weeks.
