The following is a rundown of additional notes from the March 6 meeting of the Harrison Hot Springs Council.
– Mayor Ed Wood introduced the interim CAO and acting corporate officer for the village, Kelly Ridley. Ridley has experience in multiple municipal governments, including Port Moody, Hope and Mission. She replaces Madeline McDonald, who served as CAO for seven years and retired at the end of January.
– Tyson Koch, operations manager for the village, has been named acting deputy CAO, taking the place of Debra Key, who was last listed as “on leave.” Both Key and McDonald are still listed as administrators on the village website as of Tuesday afternoon.
– A Committee of the Whole (CoW) meeting has been scheduled for March 14 at 10 a.m. at Memorial Hall (290 Esplanade Avenue). The meeting will primarily involve a review of the Official Community Plan, at the request of Coun. Allan Jackson. During the Jan. 16 council meeting, he asked for more time review the OCP, and Coun. John Buckley concurred. The OCP has not been updated since 2007 – 16 years and four council terms ago.

– Council voted 3-2 (Buckley and Wood opposed) to amend the traffic bylaw to reflect an increase in price for Zone 2 parking. The cost would go up from $3 per hour and $12 per day to $5 per hour and $20 per day. When the council voted on this during the CoW meeting on Jan. 27 and 28, Buckley was the only opposing vote.
Zone 2 consists of Esplanade Avenue, streets between Esplanade Avenue and Lillooet Avenues, including Maple Street, Chehalis Street and Spruce Street.
