The Chilliwack Harmony Chorus is once again taking orders for singing valentines.

A quartet will be at the ready to travel to Chilliwack or Agassiz from Feb. 12 to Feb. 14 to deliver a Valentine’s Day message in song.

“It’s a sweet way to charm your beloved,” says Gerry Borden, director with the Chilliwack Harmony Chorus.

Booking a barbershop quartet for a live performance makes a unique gift for Valentine’s Day, or for a special occasion.

They’ll sing a few songs, present a flower with a flourish, along with some chocolate.

At Christmas time the chorus performed at a couple’s 50th anniversary.

“They love it. Barbershop is not something you hear or see very often,” Borden said. “It brought tears to their eyes.”

They sang golden oldies like Let Me Call You Sweetheart or Heart of My Heart.

For next week, a singing valentine performance is $50, for about five minutes.

The chorus returned to singing in March 2022, and was active in 2023 with performances in the summer and about 20 different performances at Christmastime.

“If you like to sing, come out and give us a try,” Borden said.
