High water levels are restricting traffic along Rockwell Drive north of Harrison Hot Springs.
On Tuesday (May 23), Emil Anderson Maintenance posted via Twitter that Rockwell Drive is currently under a 50-per cent load capacity restriction until further notice. This is due to high levels of water in Harrison Lake and the surrounding local waterways.
In recent years, Rockwell Drive has been particularly affected by water levels and weather events. In 2020, flood waters washed out the road entirely, prompting residents to evacuate for as the road and infrastructure was rebuilt. In 2021, during the November atmospheric river event, portions of Rockwell Drive were washed out by floodwaters and landslides. In 2022, a “sinkhole” appeared in the road near the Green Point Day Use Area north of the village during the summer.
Please be advised Rockwell Drive in #HarrisonHotSprings currently has a 50% load capacity restriction until further notice due to high water levels.

The weight limit is to preserve the integrity of the road for local traffic, meaning larger trucks such as those hauling logs will likely not be making their way up or down Rockwell until further notice.
