Hope is now the only municipality in the Lower Mainland with a vaccination rate below 81 per cent (first dose).
Fraser Valley COVID case rates remain elevated, but declined slightly from Nov. 2 to Nov. 8, except Mission, according to the latest data release from the BCCDC.
Abbotsford had the highest rate of infection with 23 daily cases per 100,000 (decrease from 28 the previous week), Agassiz/Harrison had 14 (decrease from 20), Chilliwack had 20 (decrease from 26), Hope had 18 (decrease from 19), and Mission had 21 (increase from 18).
Abbotsford has the highest vaccination rate with 88 per cent of the eligible population having received their first dose (83 per cent fully vaccinated), Agassiz/Harrison is at 84 per cent (79), Chilliwack and Mission both at 81 per cent (78) and Hope is last with 78 per cent (73).
Hope is also the only municipality with a public test positivity above 10 per cent, sitting at 14 per cent.
The region as a whole sits below the total provincial vaccination rate for first dose, which is 90 per cent for those aged 12 and up (86 per cent fully vaccinated).
Across B.C., unvaccinated persons accounted for 58.2 per cent of 3,379 new cases from Nov. 1 to 7, and accounted for 64.2 per cent of the 366 new hospitalizations from Oct. 25 to Nov. 7.
