Ready or not, here winter comes.

With the weather cooling down, Earthwise Agassiz invites locals to learn about local ecosystems and much more through virtual workshops on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. and Wednesday, Nov. 25 at 12 p.m.

The free-of-charge, one-hour Zoom workshop involves an overview of Earthwise Agassiz and everything Earthwise does for the Miami River as a wildlife habitat, including enhancement and restoration. The workshop includes information about invasive species and the benefits and beauty of plants indigenous to the eastern Fraser Valley.

Earthwise Agassiz is located about five kilometres away form Harrison Hot Springs along the Miami River. The 58-acre property includes a variety of small-scale ecosystems, a heritage farm house, an ecological demonstration garden and small-scale organic farm.

Since 2015, the Delta-based Earthwise Society has dedicated itself to restoring and preserving riparian, wetland and old growth ecosystems, removing thousands of invasive species and replacing them with indigenous plants.
