Power restored Fallen tree cuts electricity for 1,600 customers in Agassiz

According to the BC Hydro outage map, power has been restored.

A tree falling across the power lines on Pioneer Avenue, knocking out electricity for more than 1,600 customers in the Agassiz area.

A BCHydro crew is on site and has restored power for most of the affected customers, leaving about 163 without power as of 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30.

The Agassiz RCMP and Agassiz Fire Department were on the scene of the fallen tree. Witnesses say traffic was being diverted from the area.

According to scanner traffic, emergency personnel were also on the scene of a vehicle incident in which a vehicle collided into a power pole along the Lougheed Highway before Pioneer Avenue in the Agassiz area. It’s not clear if the outage is related to this second incident.
