Highway 7 is now open, after the road had been closed at Scowlitz Road on the west side of the Harrison River because of downed power lines.
The road had no detour, and had been closed since around 3 a.m. Monday morning. B.C. Hydro crews were on site to deal with the powerlines, and reopened the road around 11:30 a.m.

The windstorm not took out trees in the area, some taking down power lines and others completely uprooting on residential properties.
Power outages have affected homes across the District of Kent. More than 300 customers west of Ashton Road, including residents in Harrison Mills, have been without power since 4 a.m. Monday. B.C. Hydro said it expected to have the power on by 9 a.m. this morning, and by 10 a.m. had updated their website to show those homes were re-connected to electricity.
Around 50 customers on Seabird Island were also without power, starting around 2:20 a.m. Monday morning. The Seabird Island Community School was closed as a result; the Sts’ailes Community School decided to close Sunday night. Kent Elementary and Harrison Hot Springs Elementary are both open.
Sasquatch Mountain resort posted on Facebook at 10:30 a.m. that they would be closed for the rest of the day due to “extreme weather.”
