Manhunt continues for double murder suspect

A man who police suspect may have pulled the trigger on a double murder has so far evaded arrest.

The RCMP’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is still looking for the prime suspect in a Chilliwack double murder.

Aaron Douglas is wanted on a Canada wide warrant in connection with the shooting deaths of 38 year old Richard Blackmon and 36 year old Tyler Belcourt.

Both were gunned down in the early hours of Aug. 7 in the 46100 block of Gore Avenue. A third victim was fortunate to escape with her life.

Douglas, 33 years old, has a criminal record dating back to 1996 and is believed to be armed and dangerous.

IHIT is asking the public to assist by being vigilant and calling 911 if you know of Aaron’s whereabouts,” said RCMP Staff Sgt. Jennifer Pound. “We believe that Aaron is a risk to the public and may be armed. Do not approach him yourself.”
