Medical evacuation at Kent Institution

A medical helicopter evacuated a patient from the Kent Institution on Wednesday afternoon.

At approximately 2 p.m. on Wednesday (Dec. 16), a landing zone was set up near the northeast corner of Kent Institution in Agassiz with a medical evacuation helicopter en route, according to scanner traffic broadcasted Wednesday afternoon.

A medical crew was en route via ground at about 2 p.m. RCMP officers, ambulance and firefighters are on the scene as of 2:30 p.m.

Approximately an hour later, the patient was lifted away.
