Multiple outages leave thousands without power in Chilliwack, Agassiz area

Chilly weather and fallen trees contributed to multiple widespread outages

As morning arrived following a major ice storm that swept through Agassiz-Harrison, several people in the area are without power.

As of about 11 a.m., clusters of power outages throughout the Chilliwack and Agassiz area have left more than 3,700

Some customers have been without power since 1 a.m. Friday.

Environment Canada states that freezing rain is expected to continue through the morning for portions of the Fraser Valley along with high wind potentially reaching gusts of 90 km/h, developing near Hope and continuing into the early afternoon.
