An incident with a train and a truck could have ended a lot worse Monday morning (Nov. 25).

According to fire chief Gerald Basten, Agassiz Fire was called out to an incident just before 7 a.m. Monday morning, where a pickup truck had been hit by an eastbound CP Rail train at the west end of Limbert Road.

The driver of the truck — the only one in the vehicle at the time — was able to escape from the vehicle before it was hit by the train.

Basten said there were no injuries as a result of the incident itself, and the scene was left with the RCMP.
