UPDATE: Power fully restored in Agassiz area after nine hours

A fallen tree and frigid weather are the likely culprits that knocked out power for 2,500 customers in the Agassiz area for nine hours on Wednesday morning.

A fallen tree and frigid weather are the likely culprits that knocked out power for 2,500 customers in the Agassiz area for nine hours on Wednesday morning.

B.C. Hydro reported two separate outages that overlapped slightly in central Agassiz, affecting 971 and 1,618 customers respectively. Customers as far west as Seabird Island and as far east as the Else Road area of the Lougheed Highway were without power from about 5:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
