Approximately 12 days after it was initially discovered, the Sts’ailes Forest Service Road (FSR) no longer appears on the B.C. Wildfire Service map.
The fire, reportedly human-caused, burned through approximately 15 hectares four kilometres off of Sts’ailes FSR. At its peak, 30 firefighters were on the scene along with a water tender and three firefighting helicopters. Firefighters installed a sprinkler line while battling the blaze to help extinguish flames on particularly trecherous terrain in the area. Traffic controllers were on site to guide motorists away from potential danger; at no point was it reported that structures or other values were in danger during the fire.
The fire burned through 1.5 hectares its first night, burning 10 more during its highest growth rate the next day. The rate of growth slowed considerably from August 4 to 5 to two hectares, ultimately coming under control at 15 hectares.

Elswhere in the province, as of Friday (August 14), 391 fires burned across the province this year with 27 ignited in the last seven days (From August 7 to August 14). Sixteen fires are active as of that date.
More than half of the fires were started by thunderstorms and about 18 per cent of fires are listed as human-caused. Approximately 68 per cent of fires are listed as under control with 6.3 per cent being out of control as of Friday. There are currently no evacuation orders in place. More than 95 per cent of fires that burned in 2020 are out.
