The four people who were injured during a shooting in White Rock this week have been identified as men in their early-20s who are from other parts of the Lower Mainland.

“This is a targeted incident and the victims are not from our area,” Const. Chantal Sears told Peace Arch News at the scene Friday (Feb. 23), as investigators wrapped up evidence collection.
“They’re all stable and… there’s no life-threatening injuries at this time.”
The men – who remain in hospital – were found with serious injuries following a barrage of gunfire that shook the 15600-block of Roper Avenue shortly after midnight on Thursday (Feb. 22).
Police have seized one vehicle in connection with the shooting; a black SUV that veered into property on the south side of Roper Avenue.
A suspect vehicle fled the scene, according to a news release issued later that morning. Police are continuing to investigate if a vehicle fire that was reported shortly after the incident, in the 2700-block of 196 Street, is linked to the shooting.
While no link can yet be made between this shooting and the Lower Mainland Gang Conflict, police have not ruled out the possibility.
“We can’t confirm or deny it at this time,” Sears said.
Suspects in the shooting have not yet been identified, Sears confirmed, adding that CCTV footage of the incident that has been circulating online showing the shooting take place outside of a home is what police are working with.
Initially taped off to traffic, the roads around the crime scene re-opened around noon on Thursday.
“There’s no immediate threat to the public, however, we are very concerned about what transpired here,” Sears said.
