It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Aileen Frances Hastie (Howie) AKA Fran, after a courageous 34 year battle with breast cancer.
Fran passed away peacefully, with her family at her side on December 14, 2023.
She was proud to call Agassiz home for 51 years and was keenly involved in the community, alongside her family, in numerous ways. Her first passion was her beloved grandchildren, followed by quilting and genealogy.
She had many memorable holidays with her husband Dave. Her favourites were the Isle of Skye, Scotland and Altea, Spain.
Being born in Aberdeen, Scotland on March 6, 1950, she was a true "Scot" and enjoyed the sound of bagpipes and a wee dram now and again.
Fran will forever be remembered for her true wit, lending a friendly ear, her contagious laughter, and giving out monstrous hugs.
She will be forever missed by her loving husband Dave, daughters Kim(Martin) and Mandy(Curtis and Mattia), her favourite 5; Jacob, Patrick, Jessica, Logan and Morgan, and her westie Angus.
It was Fran's wish to have a private gathering to celebrate her life.
