Funeral services for the late Dorothy Striker were held May 20, 2005 from All Saints Anglican Church, Reverend A. McLane officiating. Pallbearers were Dorothy's grandsons; Bruce and Doug Striker, and Russell Kruse; her
nephews; Brian Rose, Robbie
McKenzie and Harley Abby. Doug Striker gave the eulogy. Dorothy is
survived by her daughter Gladys Kruse - Edmonton, her sons Jack (Adele) Striker - Agassiz, Marvin (Judith)
Striker - Agassiz. Her sisters Nora Abby - Saskatoon, Ada McKenzie - Harrison Hot Springs, Colleen Lemon (George) - Prince George, Marie
Marleau - Agassiz. She was
predeceased by her husband, Marc Striker in 1968, her daughter Sharon Reider in 2003. Dorothy is mourned by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Russell (Bev) Kruse; Marlis (Ray) Ranger, children Alan and Crystal;
Stacy (Dave) Chomin, children Steven and Ashley, Bruce Striker, children Luke and Sam; Doug (Ykje) Striker, children Sara (Lance) Jarvis, Jillian, Marcus, and Jack; Kim (Tom) Amirault, children Amanda and Jessica; Angela Striker and her son Mason, her sisters-in-law Margaret Welz and Ollie Striker, and her many friends at the Friendship House, (which she was instrumental in having built), the Agassiz Old Age Pensioners, and her friend for over 70 years, Vera Striker. Dorothy arrived in Agassiz in 1944 with her husband Marc and their 4 children, and was
employed by the Harrison Hotel for over 25 years. The family would like to extend their heartful thanks for all the gifts of time, food, comfort, flowers, cards and kind words. We especially want to thank all the wonderful people at Glenwood Care Home for their
kindness, caring and dedication to
Dorothy when she was in their care.
