Hans
Hans was taken home to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, Feb 5th at the Chilliwack General Hospital,
surrounded during his last days by his loving family. He leaves his wife
Eleonore, 4 children Hermann, Peter (Elizabeth), Gerd (Donna), Anne; 5 grandchildren, Michael, Monica, Tyler, Nicole and Charlotte; his sister Hanna (Johnny) from London, England and many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
Hans was born in Germany, trained as an Agriculturalist and was a manager of an experimental farm before WWII. He moved his family to Agassiz in April 1952 where he was a dairy farmer on Mtn. View Rd; later he established a cherry/raspberry farm in Lougheed Hwy before retiring to Kalyna Drive. He had an exceptional dairy herd; in 1956 he was the local Corn King. He was active in community affairs with the citizens advisory group from Kent/Mountain Institutions and at
Dogwood Manor; and an active
member of Harrison Gospel Chapel. After farm retirement he worked in farm real estate and pension
consulting.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 11 at Harrison Gospel
Chapel at 11 am with a graveside
service prior at 10 am at the Kent/Agassiz Cemetary. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the MCC for Disaster Relief.
